Seabeck 2012: June 21-24. Mark your calendars!
Each June, the Suzuki Institute of Seattle offers a three day music camp for students and parents at the Seabeck Conference Center located in Seabeck, Washington (Google maps). Suzuki camp is open only to Suzuki Institute of Seattle students. Suzuki camp is a unique and engaging way for students to interact with and learn from each other in an informal, fun, "camp" setting. Many parents comment that the camp improves student motivation and helps make home practice more fun for the student.
The camp includes music-related activities such as master classes, repertoire classes, group lessons, concerts, and recitals. Friday evening, often a highlight of camp, is parent night: an opportunity for parents to show off their hidden talents!
Recreational activities available at Seabeck include arts & crafts, swimming, boating, tennis, volleyball, soccer, ping-pong, and hiking. The conference center provides all of the essential services: meals, linens, bedding, soap, and towels. The lodging is "dorm-style."
Suzuki Camp 2012 begins in the evening on Thursday, June 21, 2011. Check in is from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Dinner is served at 6:00 p.m. Camp ends on Sunday, June 24, 2011, at 1:00 in the afternoon. To register, please fill out the Suzuki Camp form and mail it along with your payment to:
